CHEAPART 84 TIF | 25-25 Artists and designers in dialogue
CHEAPART presents the 2nd edition of 25/25 Artists and Designers in Dialogue. As a continuation of the presentation of visual artists and designers, 25/25 project maps the relationship between jewellery and art through an exhibition of the work that documents an exportable, contemporary creative product.
As a part of CHEAPART 84th TIF, the art audience and visitors of the Thessaloniki International Fair have the opportunity to engage in the work of 50 jewelry designers and artists, through the project 25/25 Artists and Designers in Dialogue.
25/25 Designers and Artists in Dialogue aims to facilitate a conversation between visual art and design, through the creative process. 25 jewelry designers are prompted to make and display a piece of jewelry as a response to an artwork by evoking, translating, or re-articulating it. Each artwork/jewelry pair is exhibited as a diptych, revealing the characteristics of each encounter and the affordances for creative dialogue beyond the language, the limitations and the potentialities of the chosen creative medium.
CHEAPART first launched a series of curated presentations of visual artists and designers with the project 25/25 at CHEAPART 83rd TIF, in September 2018. Later that year, followed by an invitation to participate at the Thessaloniki International Fair for the exhibition 'Kosmima 2018', CHEAPART presents 100 contemporary artists and designers with the '50/50 project.' In March 2019, the 32nd Athens International Jewelery Show invites CHEAPART to the Metropolitan Expo. CHEAPART, together with Anticlastics and Ozon, launch the exhibition 'P3', showcasing a total of 70 artists, jewelry and fashion designers and the result of their creative collaboration.
